Happy Labor Day!
We, the Iranian opposition, celebrate first of May the struggle of the laborious mass for fair and equal rights and decent working conditions for living. Although workers’ struggles in Europe have brought results and considerable progress, these progresses are unfortunately still inaccessible to many other workers in the world. In countries with totalitarian regime, the governments have other concerns than the interest of workers. The employers with the complicity of the state in these countries, exploits children, women and all who have no other means of survival. Islamic totalitarian regime in Iran is an example of a regime that exploits and violates the right of worker.
Islamic regime of Iran concerns about its religious ideological dogma and ambitions of imperialism in the Middle East region and ignores the most basic rights of laborious mass of the country. Strikes and workers’ protests are repressed, the right to organize unions is being violated, and finally the result of the work of the people only serves to feed the Islamic terrorism throughout the world.

Today, we are with you to celebrate first of May. But we also want to draw your attention to the situation of your fellow workers in the world such as Iran. The upcoming so-called presidential election in Iran will once again prove to be a shameless show and regardless of the result of the “election”, the Islamic regime with its new “president” will continue to repress its people and export its fanatical vision of Islam to the world.
